O SAINT THERESA OF THE CHILD JESUS MAKE MY TROUBLES YOUR OWN, SPEAK ON MY BEHALF TO OUR LADY IMMACULATE, "WHO SMILED ON YOU AT THE DAWN OF LIFE". THIS BLACK WOOD BEAD ROSARY IS STRUNG ON BLACK, STRONG STURDY, GREEK LEATHER THAT WILL LAST FOR MANY YEARS. THE BEAUTIFUL OUR FATHER BEADS ARE NICKLE SILVER. THE CRUCIFIX IS 2" LONG. TOTAL LENGTH OF ROSARY IS 17 INCHES LONG. A FREE HOLY MEDAL OF SAINT THERESA IS ATTACHED. BORN IN FRANCE IN THE WINTER OF 1873, SAINT THERESE LIVED ONLY UNTIL THE FALL OF 1897, BUT IN HER 24 YEARS ON THIS EARTH, AND AFTER, SHE INSPIRED COUNTLESS SOULS WITH HER SIMPLISTIC ATTITUDE TOWARD PRAYER AND HER DEVOTION TO GOD. Jesus set the book of nature before me and I saw that all the flowers he has created are lovely. The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of its scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. I realized that if every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness and there would be no wildflowers to make the meadows gay. It is just the same in the world of souls - which is the garden of Jesus. He has created the great saints who are like the lilies and the roses, but he has also created much lesser saints and they must be content to be the daisies or the violets which rejoice his eyes whenever he glances down. Perfection consists in doing his will, in being that which he wants us to be. Jesus, help me to simplify my life by learning what you want me to be - and becoming that person. Saint Therese of Lisieux, from Story of a Soul
SHE PASSED AWAY IN SEPTEMBER OF 1897 AS A RESULT OF TUBERCULOSIS. MANY MIRACLES HAVE BEEN ATTRIBUTED TO HER, WHICH ACCOUNTS FOR WHY THERE WAS A RELATIVELY SHORT PERIOD BETWEEN HER DEATH AND THE TIME AT WHICH SHE WAS CANONIZED IN 1925. POPE JOHN PAUL II DECLARED HER A DOCTOR OF THE CHURCH IN 1997. SHE IS THE PATRONESS OF THOSE SUFFERING BODILY ILLS AND SICKNESS, AND ALSO AIRCRAFT PILOTS AND CREWS . HER MEMORIAL DAY IS OCTOBER 1ST.
